Heather Salemme and Melanie McCracken, two science teachers at Groton Dunstable Regional High School are excited to co-chaperone a group on an Operation Wallacea Expedition the summer of 2016. This two week opportunity will allow students to experience first hand the rigors and joys of field biology. As members of a science expedition collecting mammal, amphibian, macaw, river dolphin, various fish species, river bats and more, data on population and population pressures students will be trained on species identification, transcept and other survey techniques, and the ecology of the Amazon River, and the Pacaya-Sumiria National Reserve in Peru.
